From everyone at the City of Canning and the Sir Albert Jennings Playground Project team thank you to the local community for your support and enthusiasm. Together we have been able to deliver the City's very first Community Empowered Engagement project, where you, the community determine the outcome of the project.
We look forward to working with the community on future projects and hope to have as much fun and deliver as great an out come as we did with this project.
Thank you

The Sir Albert Jennings Park Playground team have been hard at work getting quotes to construct the new playground and we're proud to announce the playground supplier has been chosen and will commence construction in the coming weeks!
The new playground design can be seen here
Sir Albert Jennings New Playground
The successful design includes a universally accessible basket swing, accessible spinner and paths to link the equipment to the existing path. The Project Board decided to upgrade the flying fox to a double which will now include an accessible seat for additional inclusivity ramp and paths which will enable all abilities access to the flying fox. Two other timber and rope climbing structures will be located under the trees to provide added challenge to the playground.
Existing play equipment will be removed shortly, so keep an eye out, as construction is set to commence!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Sir Albert Jennings Playground workshop on Sunday 16 December. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for local residents and children to have input in designing a new playground, soon to be installed at Sir Albert Jennings Park. The workshop saw over 40 people (including many children) work collaboratively together to come up with designs that they thought would make great new playgrounds. The five designs will be narrowed down to three and posted on the up on this Your Say page for the community to vote on. The design with the most votes will go out to supply and construct in 2019.
Thanks again to everyone who came along and participated.
