What’s being shaped

Thank you for your feedback on the concept plan. The City received a lot of positive feedback on the plan. Many of you really liked how the kick-about space, playground and garden areas were designed.

Along with your feedback, we have also considered adding more logs around the meeting space to provide more seating opportunities.

In addition, you have suggested items such as drink fountain, shade structure, and a BBQ to further improve the space and enhance your park experience. However, due to budget constraints, these items cannot be included in this year's work. We will consider them in our future budget planning.

Backstory

Karri Way Park is currently an undeveloped area under the ownership of the Department of Communities. Due to passionate and dedicated community support, there is a vision to convert this space into a community park for recreational activities, ensuring it serves the community for years to come.

The City has secured funding from the Department of Communities to facilitate the development of this space into a fully operational park, designed to cater for the needs of the community.

What are the next steps

Regrettably, there is a possible delay of 6 to 9 months in receiving approvals from Western Power for a new power connection at the park.

Construction will begin as soon as the power is installed. We are working diligently to minimise this delay and we sincerely appreciate your patience. We look forward to delivering an exciting new park for the community.

If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact the City’s Landscape Architect, Nanette Nguyen on 1300 422 664.
