Notice is hereby given that the local government of the City of Canning is proposing to amend the reserve classification for the following lots in Canning Vale from 'Public Open Space' to 'Environmental Conservation':

  • Portions of Lot 500 (No. 81) Ranford Road, Canning Vale;
  • Lot 77 (1L) Livingstone Drive, Canning Vale;
  • Portion of the road reserve (between Lot 77 (1L) Livingstone Drive and Lot 26 Livingstone Drive, Canning Vale);
  • Portion of the road reserve (between portions of Lot 500 (No. 81) Ranford Road, Canning Vale); and
  • Lothian Road, Canning Vale.

This Scheme Amendment aligns with the recommendations outlined in the City’s endorsed Local Biodiversity Strategy, and will provide a further layer of protection (additional to its classification as a Bush Forever Site) over the subject land from development/infrastructure.

Why is the City advertising this Scheme Amendment?

On 20 February 2024, Council considered a report on the Scheme Amendment, and resolved to endorse the proposal for public consultation (Council Decision PD-001-24).

The Scheme Amendment is now being advertised for public comment in accordance with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.

You are invited to share your thoughts on this proposal.
