Consultation has concluded
Based on community feedback, the City of Canning has developed a concept plan for both Chapman Park and Ashburton Park, Bentley.
The plan aims to create more attractive, accessible and fun spaces for you to enjoy!
The parks are side by side, separated by Chapman Road. They are similar in size, but different in character. Ashburton Park is primarily used as a compensation basin collecting storm water runoff from the surrounding roads, whereas Chapman Park is used as a recreational space with two tennis courts, a toilet block and a small playground.
This project is also supported by Water Corporation’s Drainage for Liveability program. The program is a collaboration between Water Corporation, Department of Water and Environment Regulation and councils to transform functional stormwater drains and basins from simply flood prevention assets into valued community spaces which enhance the liveability of our suburbs.
The consultation period on the concept plan for Chapman and Ashburton Park has now closed, and a letter to the community on the consultation has been sent,. A copy of this letter can be viewed under 'Documents' in the right hand column of this page, and the concept plan can also be found in the Image Gallery to the right hand side of this page.
