Driving Connections - an intergenerational resilience program

Driving Connections

We’re partnering with resilience educators, Strength Heroes, to deliver an intergenerational program aimed at seniors and the culturally and linguistically diverse community of Queens Park. It’s one of our first programs to be delivered by our Canning on the Go outreach van which aims to take our learning programs and opportunities out to the community. Seniors will be trained to facilitate art and play based sessions for kindy-age students and their parents or caregivers in Godfrey Park, Queens Park throughout the month of May. The sessions are designed to build children’s confidence and skills and show them that it’s ok to make a mistake. Parents will also learn strategies to keep fostering resilience in their kids at home. It also offers both seniors and families the chance to meet new people and build connections in their community.

We would love for you to get involved in this program!

Does your child need some confidence and resilience skills to keep trying after they make a mistake? Find out more by clicking here.

Can you share your life experience to make a positive change for our kids in Canning? Find out more by clicking here.
