The Adaptation Game (TAG) Canning is coming soon
TAG is a facilitated table-top game simulating the impacts of climate change events. It raises awareness about what the impacts of climate change look like locally, and helps people to identify actions to adapt and become more climate resilient. TAG is being delivered by a number of councils across Australia, and now we're bringing TAG to Canning!
To learn more about TAG, visit the website and watch this video from Merri-bek City Council game participants to hear about their experience.
We want you!
We are looking for people who are interested in assisting the City in developing and delivering TAG Canning, and running TAG Canning events into the future.
Initial TAG Canning events will be run by The Behaviour Change Collaborative, supported by community assistant facilitators. As we build experience in delivering these events, there is potential that you can deliver TAG Canning yourself within your community.
Opportunities to be involved:
90 mins Localisation Workshop - providing input such as local knowledge of climate shocks (bushfire, storm and heat wave) and how they impact Canning specifically
½ day Play and Plan workshop - Test play TAG and provide feedback on game components
3 hour Come and Try event – opportunity for a sneak-peek and speed-play of TAG Canning, to see what it is all about
90 mins facilitator training introduction – receive training to run TAG Canning events in your community - must have attended Play and Plan workshop or Come and Try event
Assist with running TAG Canning events – 4 x ½ day TAG events annually – roster of community assistant facilitators
By participating in TAG, you will be helping your community to understand, adapt and build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
Please fill out this Expression of Interest form and submit by 13 April 2025.
We have a limited number of positions available in the initial TAG cohort, but will have further opportunities to participate as the project rolls out int the community.
We look forward to having you involved in this exciting project!
