What's being shaped?
Good News! Warwick Park is getting an upgrade.
We are excited to announce plans to breathe new life into Warwick Park. Let's shape a new story for the park!
For updates on the progress on the park please see www.yoursaycanning.com.au/wanju-bentley
Backstory
The Warwick Park upgrade is part of the Bentley Parkscapes Program, which is delivering upgrades at six parks to complement the Bentley 360 development.
Warwick Park is located at the northern edge of the Bentley 360 development site and is within 200m from Dumond Park.
The whole park generally slopes downwards from west to east with a playground in the centre. There is a lack of paths and particularly none to the playground, which is especially important for a sloping site to ensure universal access to amenities. The west and middle areas contain a number of large mature gum trees which cast ample shade and provide an ideal space for a nature play space and a sitting area. The eastern part of the park is more open with less trees and gentler slopes. This area would be suitable for a kick-about space.

What we're proposing:
A new pathway to connect the existing playground with the surrounding paths.
Extension of the play area to incorporate nature play elements.
Improvement to the kick-about space.
New turf and new garden beds with trees and shrubs to create more defined spaces within the park.
A low fence running between the play space and the road to prevent children from accessing the road.
What are the next steps?
Overall, the upgrade aims to improve accessibility, improve amenities to encourage more use of the park, enhance the urban canopy and biodiversity in our parklands, improve the general appearance of the park and provide visual cues to the northern entrances of the Bentley 360 Development.
We're aiming to have the park constructed and completed in 2023.
Please complete the survey by Friday 12 August 2022. We look forward to hearing from you!
