FAQs
What is happening with regard to the State Football Centre at Queens Park?
The Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries has been working with the City of Canning and the community on a project to see the State Football Centre developed on the Queens Park Open Space.
At the same time, the City has been working on a Master Plan for Queens Park Open Space, as it is a great opportunity to revitalise the area and enhance the environment and ensure the future of the open space aligns to the community’s values and daily activities.
Whilst the projects are happening simultaneously, it’s important to know how to have your say on each of the projects.

What about the Queens Park Open Space (QPOS) Master Plan?
The Queens Park Open Space Master Plan was endorsed by Council at the 17 November OCM. This overall concept will guide the future of Queens Park Open Space.
These projects are happening simultaneously to make sure there is seamless integration between the community aspects and the State Football Centre.
The Masterplan considers the high environmental value of the area and will guide the creation of a welcoming and vibrant space for the community.
A number of the elements proposed within the Queens Park Open Space Master Plan will include more community engagement including for detailed design. We will keep the Your Say pages updated with further engagement opportunities on this separate project.
