Request a Tree 2025

Street tree planting forms an integral part of our Urban Forest Strategy, contributing over 6,500 trees to cool your homes.

Each year, the City runs its Planting program during its planting season (May to November), this includes our targeted tree planting program, Greenstreets, projects and elected member requests as well as our request a tree program which  gives residents a choice of tree to add to their verge.

Requested locations are plotted on our GREENspace map and sites are inspected prior to winter to confirm site suitability. Although we endeavour to ensure your first choice we take into consideration the existing species and environmental conditions. Should a species substitution be required this will be updated on the GREENspace map and resident notified.

Local streetscapes and the wider community benefit from street trees in a variety of ways, including:

  • Cooling the air
  • Filter urban pollutants
  • Increase property values (leafy suburbs)
  • Increase urban biodiversity
  • Improve mental and physical health

Please read our FAQ page should you have any further questions.
