Get your hands dirty and make a difference! Come down to Godfrey Park for a fun and family-friendly Tree Planting Day. Help us green up our park, meet your neighbours, and enjoy some fresh air. The Sister Kate’s Home Kids Aboriginal Corporation (SKHKAC) and the City of Canning worked together to produce a (on-Country) design of contemporary art, including wildflowers that symbolises the connection of the Sister Kates Homee Bush Block: a place of healing and the community unity Wall Mural at the Queens Park Reserve – this bringing a focus of connection to Country and the natural world.

The (on-Country) artwork also connects the Queens Park Primary School and its students to this community – an art in public space initiative that reaffirms the connection of young people, their families and the community as a whole; moving forward in unity, strength and reconciliation to a stronger future for the area.

Neighbour Day celebrates community by bringing together residents, fostering friendships, and encouraging collective involvement in shaping the neighbourhood.

The City is providing a $250 grant for a Neighbourhood Day event across March 2024.

Voting is now open for your new Godfrey Park playground!

The new playground will move location slightly, but not too far – it will sit under the shade of the trees just next to the existing playground.

Both playground design options feature climbing nets and lots to do for all ages.

Join us for three weeks of summer fun in Queens Park Reserve with a Walk, Talk, Play series at Queens Park Reserve over January and February 2024. The Neighbourhood Team will set up some fun interactive games and activities around the park.

The City is hosting a range of fantastic activities over Seniors Week 12-19 November.

Locally, the Queens Park Seniors Club is hosting some new “come and try” art workshops funded by the Neighbourhood Development team.
